Color and Form

This is the “spectrum” formation from my series of 3D color sculptures for my final Color Theory book. It was completed in Cinema 4D (with some post work in Photoshop) on 2007-04-17.

BFK 2007

The opening of my unofficial gallery show last Tuesday at Cornish College of the Arts was a resounding success. For those of you not in the know, BFK 2007 was a surprise show featuring works of art inspired by the Design Department Coordinator, Brian (Freaking) Kennedy (who was a very good sport about the whole thing).

Photos of the 40+ submitted works are forthcoming, but for now you can take a look at my two submissions: A Stained Glass Portrait of Saint Brian and a Flyin’ Brian Quartz Composition.

Pallet Portraits: Group

This is the final construction from my book “Pallet Portraits: Series One”. The process is rather complicated, but essentially I reduced photographs of individuals to 8 colors and then applied those colors to cubes in space based on raw data such as RGB values and color percentages.

This image was modeled and rendered using Cinema 4D in Seattle, Washington on 2007-04-03.

The Martyrdom of Saint Brian

The Martyrdom of Saint Brian
This is a stained glass portrait of Cornish Design Department Coordinator Brian Kennedy I created using Photoshop, Cinema 4D and some old-fashioned pencil and ink drawing. It was done for a ridiculous art show I hosted called BFK 2007, which featured 45+ artworks inspired by the fabulously indulgent Mr. Kennedy and which opened one minute before a “real” design department show.

BFK 2007 was way better than the real show. Honest.

At any rate, the model was completed on 2007-04-01 in Seattle, Washington and rendered over the following night.

Flyin’ Brian

Here’s a Quartz composition I put together for BFK 2007:

Flyin’ Brian Version 1.0

Included are instructions on how to have it as your screensaver. Hooray!
